Prairie Restoration Research and Demonstration Tour at DBG Chatfield Farms (Thursday, August 06, 2026)

Join the Native Grass Working Group for a tour at Denver Botanic Gardens Chatfield Farms.

Participants will explore a multi-year prairie restoration project and research trials evaluating seed sourcing, planting methods, species composition, and site preparation techniques to improve native habitat restoration. The project aims to develop cost-effective, resilient, and low-maintenance native plant communities that enhance biodiversity and can be applied in a variety of urban and landscape settings, including parks, trails, roadway medians, and turfgrass conversion projects.

Tour of Breckenridge Alpine Garden (BAG) and turf replacement demonstration garden (Thursday, August 13, 2026)

Join us for a personalized tour of the Breckenridge Alpine Garden (BAG) and the Town's turf replacement demonstration garden. BAG is a collaboration with the Town of Breckenridge and the Summit County Garden Club (SCGC). This demonstration garden highlights perennial low-water plants that thrive at 9600 feet, attracts pollinators, and creates an oasis in the middle of Breckenridge. After the BAG tour, we'll stroll over to view a turf replacement project that resulted in another demonstration garden. The project was the result of a collaborative partnership among the Town, High Country Conservation Center, and Resource Central.

The Water Conservation Symposium is Colorado WaterWise’s flagship event, bringing together more than 200 water professionals throughout the state for a day immersed in water conservation, sustainability, and innovation. Hear from water experts representing all sectors while we explore the latest water efficiency initiatives through policy, incentives, strategy, and community engagement.

This day-long event is an opportunity for attendees to share ideas and network while enjoying presentations that explore case studies on how we may collaboratively best manage our water resources now and well into the future.

We are thrilled to offer breakout sessions again this year. Attend the presentation that appeals most to you! There is something for everyone with topics ranging from exploring effective water conservation strategies for indoor use, outdoor use, small communities, agriculture, CII customers, and everything in-between.
