Join the City of Durango as a Backflow Administrator and help protect the sustainability of our water systems. In this role, you will perform both routine and technical work, ensuring compliance with state and local ordinances through proactive outreach, education, and enforcement. You’ll conduct inspections and tests within our water distribution system, identifying and mitigating potential cross-connection issues. Strong communication skills and a dedication to community engagement are essential for maintaining compliance with municipal codes while collaborating with various departments, agencies, and the public. To support your growth, we’ll help you obtain your Backflow Prevention and Cross-Connection Control (BPCCC) certification through the American Public Works Association (APWA). Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity for a pay increase upon obtaining your American Society of Sanitary Engineering (ASSE) and State of Colorado Tester and Surveyor certifications.
