What you will be doing:
This is a newly added position to the Town of Erie working under supervision of the Sustainability and Water Conservation Specialist. The Water Conservation Technician works interdepartmentally to offer expertise to a wide variety of projects, engaging and educating residents, businesses, and property managers about water conservation and best practices in landscaping, irrigation, and indoor water use. Additionally, performs a variety of unskilled, semi-skilled, and skilled laboring tasks in support of the goals and targets set forth in the Water Efficiency & Drought Management Master plans as identified by Public Works Sustainability Division. You are encouraged to be a systems-thinker, work independently, exercising judgment and initiative and must possess a high level of communication and customer service skills. This fully operational position requires advanced proficiency in all areas of turf, irrigation technologies, low water-use landscape, residential and commercial horticulture maintenance, is cross-trained in all aspects of Public Works and Sustainability duties, and has the ability to skillfully operate all related tools and equipment. Operates at a high level with minimal supervision to complete tasks and has obtained additional education and professional applicable certification(s) in addition to experience.
