    Job Summary:

    Erie’s Sustainability Division is looking for a friendly, energetic, and positive employee who is passionate about all thing’s sustainability and water. Under general supervision of the Sustainability Manager, the Sustainability & Water Conservation Specialist I  will support general coordination for a variety of complex projects and sustainability programs to help achieve the Town’s Sustainability Plan goals. This position is expected to provide the best in public service to Erie employees, residents, businesses, and HOAs who are interested and participate in sustainability and conservation initiatives the Town offers. The Sustainability & Water Conservation Specialist I will be a local and regional expert in waste diversion, water conservation, planning and development review, and public engagement and outreach strategies. This position will provide technical expertise to both Town staff and the public as well as demonstrate a proficiency in systems-thinking and a commitment to our environment. This position will spend approximately 50% of their efforts on water conservation related efforts and 50% on waste diversion and related education and outreach, and general sustainability. Employee must be able to work on weekends and evenings at special events as needed. All staff are expected to adhere to the Town’s mission, vision, and values of P.R.I.D.E.

    Supporting the technical team and operations of the River District’s projects, the Water Resources Data Specialist performs technical, project management, and engineering work. 

    • Provides data compilation, reduction, analysis and interpretation of hydrology, instrumentation, and other types of reports in Excel or similar data management software for internal processing and stakeholder engagement.  
    • Assists District Engineers and consultants in designing and planning projects and supports related research and contract management. 
    • Provides project management support including working with consultants, suppliers, and contractors to develop scopes of work.  
    • Prepares maps of projects, technical renderings, etc. using GIS, CAD, and related software applications.   
    • Performs occasional field work, such as observing contractors on project sites, performing simple installations, etc.   
    • Work varies in complexity and requires use of creative problem solving, independent judgment and initiative.  
    • Occasional travel required, mainly throughout the 15-county District.

    Performs operation and maintenance activities of the water treatment plant and pump stations.  Performs daily monitoring of system and facility equipment and gathering, compilation of daily data.  Analyzes and monitors data results to determine process changes required to maintain a quality effluent.  Conducts compliance monitoring and process control testing.     Job Summary:

    The purpose of this position is to ascertain the available water supply and to distribute, control and regulate the waters of the San Juan and Navajo Rivers (Districts 29 and 77) and tributaries which includes: setting administrative priorities and daily diversion of water; coordinate reservoir releases and deliveries; record and compiles permanent records of water diversions and use; disseminate and explain information pertaining to water availability and use to the public; initiate measurement structure installation/repair orders; initiate orders related to illegal use of water; monitor dams for unsafe conditions; inspect wells to insure compliance; perform field investigations for new water rights and change applications for potential injury to existing water rights; administer plans for augmentation and exchange operations; empirically determine flow rates and assist hydrographers with their duties; guides and directs water users to gain cooperation and resolve disputes; and administer water daily pursuant to decrees and state statutes.

    The Senior Engineer (Project Delivery) position is foundational to support the extensive growth and rehabilitation within City and the $200M annual capital program.     Job Summary:

    The Water Treatment Maintenance Specialist in the Water Treatment Division participates in a number of activities at the water and wastewater treatment plants that include but are not limited to repair and maintenance of treatment plant equipment and facilities, receiving chemical deliveries including chlorine, learning the operation of the treatment plant, snow removal, and facility housekeeping. The person in this job will work around hazardous chemicals, perform laboratory testing, and must be able to pass a respiratory medical physical and it is recommended they have the Hepatitis B immunization series.
