Join the Board of Directors
Colorado WaterWise is run by a volunteer board and one staff administrator. We are always looking for individuals who are dedicated to driving projects and will actively participate in our working committees. We welcome professionals with the following attributes:
- Committed to promoting and facilitating the efficient use of Colorado's water
- Well-connected and possess the technical know-how to raise funds
- Politically astute in the legislative arena
- Expertise in water conservation technology and techniques, water loss management, Colorado water law, education, and more
- Self-confident and enthusiastic
- Strategy-minded
- Responsible, hands-on and results-driven
As a Board Member, your commitment includes:
- A 3-year term.
- Active participation in at least one committee and/or as an officer.
- Attend at least 9 of the 12 monthly Board meetings per year, by phone, virtual or in person; regular Board meetings are 2 hours.
- Membership in Colorado WaterWise.
- Contribution of at least one newsletter article for the quarterly CWW publication.
Board meeting locations change each month and an effort is made to accommodate members from locations across Colorado. On average, board members who are not in leadership positions spend 8 hours each month on CWW activities and board members in leadership positions (as an officer or committee chair) spend 10 hours each month on CWW activities.
If you are interested in becoming a Board Member starting in 2025, please complete the online form here. Attendance at a board meeting is strongly encouraged prior to voting on Nov. 14, 2024. Deadline to submit your nominations is November 1, 2024. The Board of Directors will review all nominations at the November 14, 2024 board meeting and vote. Board terms begin in January 2025.
